A Mini Vacation

Ahhhhh..... that is me breathing for a few moments. As I sat by the creek with my daughter, I told her for just a second to close her eyes and listen to the river singing. She listened and told me clearly she could hear it. I am not sure if she really did but I did! For a few minutes sitting there with the ones that I love, I felt like I was on a mini vacation. Sunday was in fact a perfect day. My husband surprised me and came home early from work. It was amazing. Some days you just need that day to just enjoy those around you. We went and squished our feet in the sand, made sand castles, sat by the river and then a near by lake and soaked in every bit of this beautiful Sunday. It was worth it even if we were disheveled and by the time we left completely covered in wet sand. It was more than worth it!

Parade Day

It is amazing how one weekend can bring you back to your youth. Well almost but it was certainly close enough. I decided to take the girls and of course my adorable younger sister joined us on a little adventure downtown. The yearly St Patrick's Day parade. And it was certainly an experience for the four of us. But enjoyable. We enjoyed seeing the vintage cars, a pony spray painted green, a pig of all things, Loads and Loads of fire trucks, the amazing pipers, and tons of people. There was much more to this parade but at this point in the evening my mind is slipping. Anyway I hope you enjoy just a few of the pictures I captured ( it was a tough decision picking)

Three

There is something so magical about a three year old. On this day I got to enjoy photographing an energetic, bursting with personality, full of life three year old. A bit shy at first hiding under a blanket, slowly warming up and taking a glimpse out the window, but before I knew it we were running around squishing our feet in the recently defrosted ground. It was amazing watching this little one enjoying a beautiful (almost spring) day, just days after turning three.

I cannot forget her adorable little brother. I am definitely looking forward to capturing all three of the "C" children soon!

The Love of Old

It is no secret that I have a love of the old. I Love Antique anything, I love Vintage clothing and jewelry. I love old homes which is why we live in a 1800's Victorian. I often stop at the local antique stores and purchase probably more than I should. My dining room table and chairs were my Great Uncles, My hutch was my grandmothers, I have an amazing mantel and pocket door, And I have a beautiful piano (out of tune). All show signs of age but that is what makes their beauty. And I can remember in High school walking around school truly thinking that I was so adorable in my moms clothes from the 70's. I loved them and really wish that I still was in possession of them. I am without a doubt in love with all things old so today I played with some vintage after I enjoyed a few moments outdoors with my beautiful girls! I hope that I never lose my love of the old because honestly it is amazing. And each item has a story to tell if you allow it!

Approaching Adulthood

I cannot believe that in just a few weeks this beautiful girl will be 18. The same girl that was attached to my hip as a baby and still to this day we have an amazing bond that I wouldn't change for the world. She is my sister and one of my best friends. Yes there is a big age gap but the only way you can tell is by where we are in our lives, she is seeking the perfect guy and dealing with the daily tribulations of being a teenager and I am chasing after two small children. When we are together we smile, laugh, and fight like sisters and of course our mom who is just like us joins in on the fun! I cannot wait to see the amazing things my sister does with her life. She touches so many people with her personality. And I am so lucky to call her my Sister!
